TIME:
7:00 PM – 12:00 AM
DATES:
Tuesdays: 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, and 11/24
DETAILS/INFO:

I’ll grab a spot near one of the outlets, but I’ll try for straight back from the entrance (The other options are behind the register and near the restrooms). They have pretty good wifi and they sell cheap turkey dinners through the holidays (in addition to everything else they usually have on the menu (also they still have Fried Cheese Melts even though they are NOT on the menu).

To get there, they are on Hollywood Way, if you are traveling North, it’s on your left, turn at the new parking structure or right before the entrance to the Airport, if traveling south, it will be on your right (and reverse previous instructs, either the turn immediately after the airport entrance, or at the parking structure). Don’t park in the structure, there’s plenty of parking closer to the Dennys. If you are coming via Empire Ave, turn down Avon and it will drop you down directly across from the parking structure. If you miss Avon, you can cut through the parking structure (it says Rental returns only, just follow directions to exit, you come out the main entrance to the airport, turn right on Hollywood Way, and then an immediate right into the complex). If you’re coming via Vanowen… really don’t. You can try getting on to Hollywood Way through the Frys parking lot, making a u-turn… Or getting on Empire. There’s no simple way.

DATES:
Mondays: 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23, and 11/30
DETAILS/INFO:

I tried this last year and as far as I know no one ever showed up but me, but hey, I can’t be the only person who writes better with loud music, can I?
There’s no plugs, so come charged. At the moment the tables are all broken because of a couple idiots at a live show a couple weeks back who decided to jump on the tables (I wish I was kidding). I am unsure if they will be replaced come NaNo. There is a patio out back that is relatively quiet, and if the noise is too much we can move to the tables out there.
Singing is not required, but purchase of drinks is highly encouraged. The regular crowd is largely a bunch of decent to amazingsingersbut they’re all really friendly and supportive as long as you’re having fun.
There will be word wars early in the evening, but instead of prizes for winning, lowest word count has to sing a song of their choosing.

Hope to see you there! 😀

[Pasadena] Fireside Lounge a Pasadena Covenant Church

LOCATION:
539 N. Lake Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101 (church is at the corner of Lake and Santa Barbara)]
TIME:
9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
DATES:
Saturdays: 11/4, 11/14, 11/21, and 11/28
DETAILS/INFO:

A large room donated to NaNoWriMo for the five Saturdays in November by Pasadena Covenant Church, at the corner of North Lake Ave. and Santa Barbara St. There are sofas/couches and tall tables with high chairs. I will also have a longer table set up for those people who don’t want to feel like they’re sinking to the bottom of the sea or in a crow’s nest the entire time. (Bring a cushion or pillow if you want a personalized comfy seat!) I’ll have power strips set out (please bring a power strip and/or an extension cord if you have them), but there is NO INTERNET ACCESS. That means more time for writing and less distractions!

I should have signs out pointing the way to the room, which is through the church gate on Santa Barbara St. in the southmost building, and there is parking west of the church in the church lot on Santa Barbara St. (The lot is gated, but it’s free and I have the code to get in, so let me know after you arrive if you need access.) The room we’ll be using has a microwave, a stove and oven, and a refrigerator. I’ll be providing coffee and tea, but please BRING YOUR OWN MUG.

So, what to bring: yourself, your writing (!), your own mug for coffee or tea, a cushion (if desired), and a power strip/extension cord (optional). I’m looking forward to seeing you bright and early on Saturday morning!
