2014 TGIO Party!

CC_logoWe’re FIVE days until the end of November! So keep writing! I’m still a good… a lot of words away from the finish line… as you can see, but I’m already looking forward to our TGIO Party happening the weekend after November.

For those wondering what in the world does TGIO stand for, TGIO Party is The Thank Gosh It’s Over (TGIO) Party. The TGIO party is a tim
e honored NaNoWriMo tradition. The TGIO party is the perfect place for us to share our NaNoWriMo experiences, celebrate our successes and failures, and connect with our compatriot WriMos who’ve also survived the  month long suffering of writing our beloved novels.

Here are the details for this year’s party.

Coffee Connection
3838 S Centinela Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90066

Date: December 6, 2014 (Saturday)
Time: 2:30PM – 4:30PM
Details: Coffee Connection is a great Cafe in West Los Angeles in Culver City. They have a great variety of creative coffees and pastries. They even have sandwiches if you’re hungry.  We’ll be meeting in the Courtyard/Gallery area of the cafe. Parking is mostly street parking on Centinela.

With NaNoWriMo being over, there is no excuse to not come out and party! There will be raffles and lots of fun to be had!

If you want to share a page of your novel, you’re welcome to bring a one page excerpt!

You can make an RSVP by replying to this thread on LA Region Forum or at our Meet up page.  (RSVPs are not mandatory, but appreciated.)

Good luck getting to 50K, and I hope to see you at Coffee Connection!

We’ll be raffling off a certificate for one two-day 2015 writing seminar ($155 value) from our friends at Writing Workshops Los Angeles. Writing Workshops Los Angeles offers courses and one-on-one fiction, non-fiction, and poetry instruction in small, fun classes that focus on work from a craft perspective, while delving deeply into the techniques of story, character, language, structure, and so on.  A post-November NaNo novelist’s dream!  Follow them on Twitter @writingla, Facebook, or Tumblr!

Also, as announced previously, many of you know Anita Robertson, an LA WriMo who gives lots of midnight word war encouragement.  She’s donating a kindle and a couple of autographed copies of her book (Welcome to Mineola) to NaNo LA in exchange for a microphone plug at Kick-Off.  We all thought that was a super great idea to help create a community of WriMos supporting WriMos.  If you’d like to do something similar, please contact Sara via email: smcbride@caltech.edu.

Don’t forget to RSVP (not required but appreciated) either on our Meet Up Page or at the NaNoWriMo LA Region Forum!
