The Finish Line

Happy Tuesday Morning Write-Mos,

I hope that everyone has either finished their word count for the month or is near to finishing.  If you have finished, I would like to congratulate you on a job well done!

But if you are like me, you are typing like mad to finish up on time.  You still have today and tomorrow.  Do not give up.  It is not over till it is over. We have until the stroke of midnight tomorrow to win this thing. That being said I am hosting one more Write-In tonight at the Wheelhouse in Los Angeles.

I believe in the writer in all of us.  NaNoWriMo just helps us bring out that writer and teach it some very important habits.  Basically if you write a little bit every day, you can finish a novel in a month.  It may be the first draft, but you would not have that first draft if you didn’t sit down and write.

I have been a romance writer since 1990, but I never finished one of my novels till I joined National Novel Writing Month and took the one month challenge.  Since I joined NaNoWriMo, I took the challenge and that this will be my third finished novel.  I have two that are still in revision. But I have two novels that have beginnings middles and ends.  That is something to crow about.  When you finish this you will have a novel to boast about finishing too.

Now, if you have not already done it, or are not already doing it, sit down and finish that novel you have been working on.  The world needs your novel, your unique voice and what you have to say.  I need your book, because I read like crazy and need new authors to follow. Wouldn’t it be great if my next favorite author was you?

So we still have two days!!  READY! SET! GO!

Finish that novel and win the challenge.  YOU can do this.  I know you can.  I have seen people go from almost nothing late in the game to finishing on time.  You can do it too.  Never give up.  Never surrender. (Yes I did just quote Galaxy Quest.) But it is a great statement.  So Write on and finish your challenge. Win the war against the words.  You have them in you.  Just get them out on paper.

Good Luck Everyone
