Unless things have changed, we’re going to have no power or internets – come with charged batteries and if you can: your own internet – I’ll be able to provide some via my mobile hot spot, but I have to limit it to those of us who require it (Hi! I’m a netbook user! Wheee!)

Other than that, there be food and drink and supposedly: pie. Dupars is supposed to be known for their pie. Let’s put that to the test.

I’ll be there early to answer questions about NaNo, the website and probably have some extra goodie bags from Kick Off.

Early Bird Kick Off Write-Ins

[Sherman Oaks] Early Bird Kick-Off @ Panera Bread

Location: 14708 Ventura Boulevard Sherman Oaks, CA 9140
Date: 11/1
Time: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Details/Info:  Are you going to be out dancing and carousing with the goblins and ghouls on 10/31? If you are, you can still kick off your NaNoWriMo right with an Early Bird Write-In with your ML Chris Bailey!

This 6AM start time will flow into the regular Saturday morning write-in that is at Panera all year. This means you can write from 6AM – Noon on the first day of NaNoWriMo Now that is dedication to your writing and a GREAT start to the month!

This is the Panera that is between Kester and Van Nuys Blvd on Ventura Blvd (not the Studio City or Encino ones also on Ventura Blvd).  There is a massive parking lot out back.  Free wi-fi and I bring 4 – 6 plug power strips to add ample power.

Don’t forget to patronize the establishment.  They’ve been taking care of us all year and they’re very friendly and welcoming.  They let me reserve space if the crowd is big and don’t charge for the privilege.  Let’s show them we appreciate it!

[Culver City/Mar Vista] Late Bird Kick-Off @ Coffee Connection

Location: 3838 S Centinela Ave, Los Angeles CA (map)
Date: 11/1
Time: 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Details/Info:  For those who turned into a pumpkin at midnight post-Halloween bash, and/or are unable to make it to one of our fab midnight NaNo blast-offs, this November 1st Late Bird Launch is for you.

This is an extension of our year-round weekly Coffee Connection write-in, but for November only we’ll be in “the Cabin”, the bungalow on Venice Blvd. end of the cafe. We’ll post signs to direct you to the space, which will be set up with seats for about 30, and have wifi access. Coffee and food is coveniently located right next door (please patronize the coffee shop as they give us access to the space pro bono!).

Come pick-up NaNoWriMo goodies, and hangout with other writers just as weird as you are. And yes… there will be word wars and prizes!

Hosted by ML Lisa.

No RSVP is needed. Just show up and celebrate the coming of 2014 NaNoWriMo!
